Welcome to the Cantonese Core Group (CCG) of CCCO!
The Cantonese Ministry of the CCCO has been serving the Cantonese speaking Christian community of Ottawa for more than 20 years. Through worship, instruction and fellowship, we seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ who will reach out to share the Gospel with others in the community. Currently, there are about 90 people in the Cantonese congregation, age ranging from 10 to 90 years old with the majority in their forties and fifties.
Our Sunday school provides systematic Bible instruction in a small classroom setting. Classes are arranged according to the spiritual maturity of the students. Some the Sunday school courses that we have offered recently include: The Cost of Discipleship – the life and teaching of Bonhoeffer, Successful Christian Parenting, the Teachings of Paul, the Book of Proverbs, and the Apostles’ Creed.Back to top
Fellowship and Cell Group
We provide a variety of fellowships and cell groups for people of different age groups and life-situations to share and grow together in community. Caleb Fellowship is our longest running fellowship serving the Cantonese speaking seniors. The Caleb Fellowship meets on the second Saturday of every month with the exception of January and February. Good Morning CCCO is our adult fellowship meeting on the third Saturday of every month. The Emmanuel Fellowship is our newest fellowship serving those who are unable to attend church on the weekend. The Emmanuel Fellowship meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month. There are two family cell groups that meet bi-monthly at homes.Back to top
Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the reason for our being. In the past, we have offered training in evangelism through the Evangelism Explosion. Recently, we have run the Alpha Course with many positive results.Back to top
